welcome

It all started in the forest...

For me, everything started in the woods. I always felt at home among the old oaks, sitting on a forked tree trunk, overlooking the wild garlic and moss covered forest floor. From up there, the plants whispered their stories to me, gladly telling their tales to a hopeful heart and ears that were eager to listen. The forest holds an abundance of folklore, wisdom and magic, and I capture what most people tend to overlook: The small, quiet, wondrous moments.

hello,

I'm Alex

Growing up I fell in love with the wonders of nature and spent my days climbing trees, exploring meadows, riding horses or with my nose stuck in a book. I got my first camera when I was around ten years old, about to embark on my first - no parents-  summer vacation on a farm, riding horses from dawn to dust. Ever since I can remember I loved to capture moments, the light and plants. Either on film or paper.

As a writer, I love to listen to the plants and weave their stories into our own. As a photographer I capture everything I can’t possibly put into words. As a neurodivergent human, I see glimpses into a world that most people pass by without a second glance. I feel most at home in the deep dark woods where the only sounds are screeching owls, rustling leaves and wild herbs rocking gently in the wind. Right there, I found peace, solace and purpose in the poetry of plants.

a few things about me…

Plants are my love language.

  • There is no bouquet in the world that would make me happier than the wildflowers in my forest garden

  • Fresh, homemade sourdough bread and butter is something I could eat every day

  • Misty, foggy mornings are my favourite

  • I love to get lost in a good fantasy book

our values

Living in an overwhelmingly loud + fast paced world that doesn't slow down for anyone, we aspire to create art that feels grounding, nourishing and calming to our nervous system.

Calm and Grounding

Here for All

Knowing the feeling of living on the outside looking in, we stand for equality and acceptance for all, no matter your heritage, neurodiversity or ableness.

Kind to Earth

Our actions carry consequences and our mission is to leave behind nothing but footprints. Rather than living on the earth, we strive to live with the earth through earth conscious product development.

You are welcome in our garden

The earth is our home. Wether you live in a big city, a small town, suburbia, in the woods or by the sea: I strongly believe there are ways, big and small, for us to connect to nature no matter the circumstances. Of Moss + Oak is meant to fill in the blanks and offer you a virtual garden and sanctuary when life gets too loud, busy or difficult.

Stewarding an overgrown wooded acre in the south-west of Germany, I’d like to take you along the journey of caring for and re-planting on this piece of neglected land so it may one day care for us in return.
