Between root, bark, flower and leaf.

Why of Moss and Oak? Much like in life, and within ourselves, dynamic photography comes alive through a play of shadow and light. Of softness and sharp lines. The soft mossy forest floor and resilient, majestic oaks remind me of that. Stories, visual or written, are never simply one or the other. There's nuance and details and even otherworldly magic hidden in the small and often forgotten worlds all around us. To an unperceptive observer a pile of leaves may just be a pile of leaves, to some it's an entire eco system of critters, micro organisms, mycelium networks and a dozen shades of autumn. The untold and hidden stories between root, bark, flower and leaf are my favourite ones to capture.

I’m a photographer, writer and budding botanist. My biggest passion in life is to create art that allows other people to witness the beauty of the earth through my eyes. I find wonder in the leaves dancing in the wind, in a steaming cup of herbal tea and the tiny magical moments throughout the seasons we so often overlook. My camera allows me to capture the wild in and around us, forever inspired by the plants, seasonal shifts and the magic we can find in the ordinary.

Hi, I'm Alex.
